Shri Satyasai Baba Ji
Satya Sai Baba (born Sathya Narayana Raju 23 November 1926 – 24 April 2011) was an Indian guru, cult leader and philanthropist. He claimed to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi. Sai Baba's materializations of vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces, and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, resurrections, clairvoyance, bilocation, and alleged omnipotence and omniscience, were a source of both fame and controversy. His devotees considered them signs of his divinity, while skeptics viewed them as simple conjuring tricks. The Sathya Sai Organization, founded by Sai Baba "to enable its members to undertake service activities as a means to spiritual advancement", has over 1,200 Sathya Sai Centres (branches) in 126 countries. Through this organization, Sai Baba established a network of free hospitals, clinics, drinking water projects, auditoriums, ashrams and schools.
INSTITUTION'S HISTORY
SSMD Ayurvedic College & Hospital
SSMD Ayurveda College and Hospital has been established by Mr. M.D.Jindal and his father Mr. Hari Chand Jindal. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid on 2 nd April 1972 by Dr. G. S. Dhillon, Speaker, Parliament of India. The most fortunate thing is that the hospital was inaugurated by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba himself. The gracious visit of Baba ji on 15.03.1973 is in response to the silent prayers of millions of devotees of Moga area. The miraculous cures of incurable diseases have awakened deep faith in the hearts of the people all over the Punjab. The first batch of college was initiated in the year of 1983.

Hospital Facility
The Hospital complex includes all the advanced as well as modern facilities like X-ray, ECG, USG, Operation theater & High-tech lab. The Hospital is designed & constructed as per specifications and norms laid down by C.C.IM., Government of India and managed by an experienced, well-qualified doctors.. The Complex has all the following seven Ayurvedic Clinical departments.
Affiliation & Recognition
The college is permanently recognized by Govt. of Punjab, Central Council of Indian Medicine New Delhi and affiliated with Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, (www.graupunjab.org) Hoshiarpur (Punjab). The intake capacity of students is increased from 40 to 60 seats (20 additional seats) & got sanction vides Ayush Letter No. R 13011/38/2017-EP(IM-1), Dated: 01-Nov.-2017.
Pharmacy
SSMD Ayurvedic Pharmacy is an additional asset to the college and hospital. Presently it prepares about 58 varieties of Ayurvedic Medicines including Powders, Oils, Decoctions, Lehyas, Pills etc. to meet the special needs of free service and supply to some of the patients. In addition, the Pharmacy prepares some new formulations, as advised by experienced clinicians and based on research, against challenging diseases.
